Maurice White, best known as one of the founding members of the group Earth, Wind, & Fire, passed away today. He was 74. The news has just been confirmed by the Associated Press via a tweet. White Led by longtime members Philip Bailey, White’s brother Verdine and Ralph Johnson, the band operates under a license from Earth Wind & Fire IP, a holding company owned by White’s sons.
He first started playing drums with Earth, Wind & Fire in 1974. At the time, White’s brother Verdine played bass in Earth, Wind & Fire, while their older half-brother Maurice served as a singer
