TV is hooked up thru Wi Fi. Movies and video in files on the computer can be cast to my Blu ray player (and played on the TV) or directly to the TV to be watched. When I play movies thru Kodi, which is loaded on my computer, before they begin it always asks which device do I wish to use for viewing. The only choice of the three that works is Put FireStick in mirroring mode. Connect to your Fire TV from your Android device. 1. Press and hold the Home button on your FireStick TV remote for two seconds until a menu appears. Select Mirroring. You will enter Mirroring mode, and your Android smartphone should be able to detect your FireStick in the network. 2. Google Play Store: The easiest method to install Kodi on smart TV models made by Sony is via Google’s application store. Launch this application (Play Store), look up Kodi using the search tool and download the application. You will be able to run it natively, without any restrictions. Kodi is quite hard for the novice. Not tried my self but people recommend the loop, rising tides and the crew add ons for sports on kodi. For movies just use beetv. Simply type 82614 into the amazon Downloader app after enabled developer mode on your fire tv. For reliable sports you will need to find an iptv provider and pay for a sub.
Step 4: Install Kodi on your Smart TV using a Raspberry Pi. If you’re looking for a more advanced and customizable solution, you can use a Raspberry Pi to install and run Kodi on your Smart TV. A Raspberry Pi is a small and affordable single-board computer that can be transformed into a media center by installing Kodi.
Purpose is to continue gaming on main screenwhile media is playing on smart TV in the background. Read about some DLNA stuff but couldn't figure out the addons/upnp/remote control settings that were recommended by people using previous versions of kodi Is it possible to run Kodi inside of Chrome maybe so I can cast single tab?
